Saving Whooping Cranes in Louisiana

Sara Zimorski, biologist with Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries, will give a presentation on efforts to save the Whooping Cranes in Louisiana, particularly their latest success: the birth of two baby whoopers!

The recent discovery of two other whoopers found shot in southwest La. not long thereafter will animate our discussion. This setback amid success in the struggle to successfully establish a thriving, self-sustaining population of this majestic species, offers a chance to reflect on the program and how it will succeed.
